Warm-up time is one of the first questions new owners ask. A hot tub doesn’t heat instantly – it needs hours to raise cold tap water to a comfortable 37–40 °C.
Manufacturers and retailers say hot tubs generally take between 3 and 8 hours to heat up. Premium models with 3 kW heaters can reach temperature in as little as 3 hours, while smaller, less powerful heaters may take 8 hours or more. Inflatable tubs heat more slowly at roughly 1 °C per hour.
Plan for at least half a day to bring fresh water up to temperature. Keeping the tub on at a steady temperature and using a good cover drastically reduces warm‑up times and energy consumption.
